Deb & Matt Chat on YT: Did We See Turtles in Airlie Beach? | Anthem of the Seas

Day 5 aboard Anthem of the Seas brings us back to Airlie Beach for our second day in the Whitsundays!

Today we head off on foot along the Airlie Beach boardwalk toward Coral Sea Marina for a turtle spotting tour with Whisper Tours. It was hot, humid and very sweaty, but the walk gave us some beautiful views around Airlie Beach before we arrived at the marina

Our turtle spotting tour was aboard a small electric boat, limited to only a small group, and we set off to see if we could spot turtles in the Whitsundays. So… did we actually see any?

After the tour, we tender back to Anthem of the Seas, cool down onboard, enjoy lunch, and then take in a stunning sunset as we sail away from the Whitsundays

The evening includes rum punch cocktails, Taste of the UK in the Main Dining Room, some wonderful viewer meet-ups, Crazy Quest, and a very fun — although slightly confusing — Royal Caribbean Resolution Dance Party

Deb & Matt Chat on YT: NOW We Know! 🚢 Royal Caribbean’s Big Australia Shake-Up Explained! Cruise News and More!

oyal Caribbean’s Australian 2027/28 cruise season is finally here — and now we can see what the big fleet shake-up actually means for Australian cruisers. 🇦🇺🚢

Last week we talked about the early reports of THREE Royal Caribbean ships appearing in Australia’s 2027/28 season.

Now we have the deployment schedules.

Tonight on Deb & Matt Chat LIVE, we’re taking a proper deep dive into Anthem of the Seas, Ovation of the Seas and Voyager of the Seas, what’s changing in Brisbane and Sydney, the role of Royal Beach Club Lelepa — and importantly, what happens to passengers who were ALREADY BOOKED on cruises affected by the changes.

📧 One of our viewers has shared the email she received after her booked Voyager of the Seas cruise was impacted by the deployment changes.

We’ll look at the replacement cruise Royal Caribbean has offered, fare protection, cancellation options and compensation — and ask whether Royal has handled the changes fairly.

Deb & Matt Chat on YT: Royal Caribbean Goes BIG in Australia?! 🚢 Celebrity Cruise Deployments! Cruise Port Strike

🚢 Could Royal Caribbean really be bringing THREE ships to Australia for the 2027–28 cruise season?

Tonight on Deb & Matt Chat LIVE, we’re digging into a very interesting Royal Caribbean story.

An Australian travel publication reported that Anthem of the Seas, Ovation of the Seas AND Voyager of the Seas would form part of Royal Caribbean’s expanded Australian program — and then the story disappeared.

But there’s more…

🔎 We’ve been doing some digging of our own and have independently found Voyager of the Seas listed at Sydney’s Overseas Passenger Terminal across future seasons, including multiple calls during 2027 and 2028.

So what is Royal Caribbean planning for Australia?

🚢 TONIGHT’S BIG STORY

🇦🇺 THREE Royal Caribbean ships for Australia?

We’ll look at:

❓ And why the original three-ship story suddenly disappeared!

Important: Royal Caribbean has not yet formally released the complete deployment we’re discussing. We’ll separate what has been officially announced, what appeared in the subsequently removed report, and what we’ve independently found in port schedules.

Deb & Matt Chat on YT: I Took Her Back to Where I Proposed | Anthem of the Seas Day 4 (Airlie Beach)

Day 4 aboard Anthem of the Seas brings us to our first of two days in Airlie Beach! So lets explore this wonderful Whitsundays location.

Eight years ago to the week, Matt proposed to Deb on cruise to Airlie Beach. This week, we came back — on Anthem of the Seas — to walk the same streets, sit by the same marina, and see how much has changed.

This was a tender port day, with Anthem anchored in the Whitsundays and cruise passengers tendering into Shute Harbour before transferring by bus into Airlie Beach.

We explore the Airlie Beach markets, walk through town, find out what tours and activities are available for cruise passengers, and book two local experiences through Airlie Beach Tourism.

For our first Airlie Beach adventure, we jump aboard a Just Tuk’n Around Tuk Tuk tour and explore more of Airlie Beach with local guide Stevie J.

Later in the afternoon, we head back to Shute Harbour for a sunset glass-bottom boat tour with Pioneer Adventures, complete with bubbles, nibbles, coral viewing, fish spotting and a beautiful Whitsundays sunset.

Then it is time for a night tender back to Anthem of the Seas, a late dinner in the Main Dining Room, dancing waiters and Caribbean Night onboard.

Champagne, nibbles, coral viewing, a stunning Whitsundays sunset, a night tender back to Anthem, a very late Caribbean Night dinner in the main dining room, and one moment I’d been holding onto all day. This video has it all

Whether you are planning a future trip to Airlie Beach and the Whitsundays or just enjoy watching travel adventures, this update provides a practical look at our experience in the Whitsundays.
